It coincided with village Christmas light turn-on on the village green, free Santa for the kids, free mulled wine and mince pies for the world wearies. Couldn’t be nicer

I shouldn’t say this, but why not: I’ve found the best sledge for a safe and fun quick down hill sledge, is the padding off of the rugby goals. You can get two in and put them back up with their velcro before anyone shouts “Oi you, you’re old enough to know better!”
