Momma’s taking us to the zoo tomorrow,
Zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow.
Momma’s taking us to the zoo tomorrow,
With the man that we call Uncle Ray.
Daddy’s taking us to the zoo on Sunday,
Zoo on Sunday, zoo on Sunday.
Daddy’s taking us to the zoo on Sunday
Because he and mum ‘Have nothing to say’…
I write these ‘Zoo’ poems in batches: sometimes they come to me, sometimes they do not. Sometimes a little cynicism is bound to creep in…
Mommy took me to the zoo today.
We picked up lunch along the way.
Sandwiches, chips and each a pop
It wasn’t very long a stop.
Daddy’s clerk girlfriend took the pay.

I suspect Uncle Ray looks quite at home in the Reptile House?
(And I embrace cynicism as a friend.)
